Photographer • Designer • Educator • Mentor • Entrepreneur
Brian Johnson, professionally known as Brian Maurice, is a photographer, designer, educator, creative mentor, entrepreneur, U.S. Army veteran, and ordained elder committed to using creativity to create opportunity and impact.
A graduate of Full Sail University with a B.S. in Digital Arts & Design, Brian has worked professionally in photography and creative design since 2008 and is the founder of Indigenous Design.
Brian spent four years as a full-time educator, teaching more than 200 students annually, while continuing to mentor young creatives through schools, churches, nonprofits, and community partnerships.
That passion inspired Pixels & Perspectives International, creating pathways for youth and young adults in the U.S. and South Africa to turn creative talent into opportunity and careers.
“God told me that my imagination is Him trusting me with His wonders to help change the world.”
Creativity is more than talent—it is a tool for purpose, opportunity, and transformation.
Pixels & Perspectives International is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through creative arts education, mentorship, leadership development, and career readiness.
We serve students in the United States and South Africa by providing access to photography, graphic design, digital storytelling, entrepreneurship, and real-world opportunities that prepare them for successful futures.
Our mission goes beyond teaching creative skills—we equip young people to become confident leaders, problem-solvers, and contributors to their communities.
Why South Africa?
South Africa is home to some of the world's most resilient young people, yet many communities face overwhelming economic challenges.
Youth unemployment exceeds 90% in some underserved communities.
Many children grow up in informal settlements with limited access to quality education, technology, and career opportunities.
Creative talent is abundant, but opportunities to develop that talent are often out of reach.
